Born in Brisbane in 1962, artist Sue Hayward finds her inspirational source in the endless stories about the human condition and, in particular, the relationship between people and the environment. She grew up in Australia, where she was able to develop a special affinity for nature. The artist often uses plants, animals, and especially birds in her work as symbols of the various aspects of human expression. She is often concerned with loss and the longing for unity that manifests itself in nature, for example.
