until 14.04. | #3348ARTatBerlin | Kuckei + Kuckei shows from 25th February 2022 the group exhibition random repeat refine with works by the artists Cécile Dupaquier, Marie Rief and Fiene Scharp. A cut in a sheet of paper, repeated hundreds of times; ten, twenty, thirty copies of the same motif; building material whose structure is disassembled and reassembled – through such minimal and reproductive procedures, the artists Cécile Dupaquier, Marie Rief and Fiene Scharp detach their respective material from its expediency and question it in a creative process: What is its intended and what its possible essence? What identity does a copy have, what uniqueness a repetition? Where does chance end and artistic gesture begin? When does circumstance become object? How does material become art? Dupaquier, Rief and Scharp show that basically everything is already present or laid out: material, possibilities, methods. The artists explore the material, test it beyond its technical-industrial function, take it out of the workshop, out of the office or out of the laboratory – into the studio.
